Education

The CEOM faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and Ph.D. students have been involved in formal and informal education of geospatial technologies, science and applications. For example, we teach “Environmental Remote Sensing” course in fall semester, which is a cross-listing course between the Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology and the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability (PBIO-4733/5733 and GIS-4733/5733). In 2012, we also launched and led an effort to host the first campus-wide GIS Day 2012 event at the OU Norman campus, which attracted many high school students from several local high schools and undergraduate students from the OU.
